At KP, we had 2 visitors (one a parent of the service) who both work in indigenous health care, come to our service, and teach us about the different indigenous regions within Australia from indigenous groups and their dialects.
The lovely ladies then ran a couple of activities, one hand print art and one where they taught the children words from the local Yugambeh Language. We made damper, an indigenous chef’s recipe, and had that with native bush tucker, jams, relish and spices and drank some lemon myrtle tea.
We followed with some beautiful bush landscape painting. As a thank you, our children made the most amazing cards to give to our visitors.
